Cornerstone Percussion, a competitive indoor drumline from San Diego, California, was founded in 2010. We are under Cornerstone Percussion San Diego, a non-profit tax-exempt 501(c)(3) created to support youth in their journey to learn,grow and lead in the percussive arts. Indoor percussion combines elements of music performance, marching and theater. Competitions are held during January-April each year, in addition to multiple opportunities to perform at community events and shows. Winter Guard International (WGI) Percussion Contest Rules dictate that participants are composed of members between ages 13 and 22.
Cornerstone Percussion competes in Independent A Class in Winter Guard International (WGI), Southern California Percussion Alliance (SCPA) and American Drum Line Association (WGASC/ADLA). Although we are not affiliated with any religious organization, our shows are designed with emphasis on feelings and telling a story - faith, hope, love, getting through difficult times, and respectful of each other's beliefs and understanding - we are all human! We strive to create an environment for our members where they are learning and growing in the activity knowing they are in a safe space where they can thrive. We are dedicated to giving percussionists an opportunity to perform in an indoor percussion ensemble while still being able to manage academic, work and family responsibilities.
